My name is Lindsay Sanchez, a recent graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey with a degree in music and journalism. This blog was started as a senior thesis project because I am passionately committed to sharing and discussing music in all forms. I consider myself a perpetual student and music is my favorite subject.

The Get Down is a place for readers to discover new tunes and bands, read interesting musings, reviews of live shows/ albums and whatever else there is to offer.

Unlike other publications that create exclusive and elitist environments, I created  The Get Down as a no judgement zone for music and fans of all genres. Of course, opinions will be printed and suggestions will be raised but this blog is for the conversation and the fun.
